Towers Watson Appoints Deputy To Insurance Management Consultancy

Professional services firm Towers Watson has appointed Sam Farrimond as Asia-Pacific deputy leader of its insurance management consultancy practice. Farrimond joins the business from Shoreline Asia, a consultancy firm he founded in 2009. Farrimond, in this new role, will support Keith Brooks, regional director of Towers Watson Asia Pacific and leader of the IMC practice. He will provide advisory services to insurers in the areas of strategy design, distribution and operations, the firm said in a statement. Farrimond will be based in Singapore. “Insurers these days are under tremendous pressure to operate more efficiently and effectively. We are excited that someone of Sam’s pedigree has joined our team. He brings a breadth and depth of experience particularly on the operational and business development side of the insurance business, and in managing partner relationships effectively. His rich insight and advice will support Towers Watson’s mission in providing pragmatic and insightful solutions focused on delivering genuine business benefits to insurance clients in Asia-Pacific,” said Brooks. Farrimond has 24 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having started his career in the Isle of Man. He previously spent eight years at Munich Re, where he held a variety of roles in Hong Kong and Mumbai. Prior to that, he was operations director at Commercial Union in Romania. Towers Watson has 15,000 associates globally and provides consulting, technology and solutions across areas including talent, risk and capital management.
